As reported in the American Society of Employers Salaries for Co-op Students & Recent College Graduates Survey 65% of the respondents maintain a formal co-op/internship program, with 72% of the respondents planning to recruit students this year.
Internships are a win-win program, which allows an employer the opportunity to attract student talent with new knowledge and skills to their company. Internships programs serve as a testing ground for hiring future employees and serves as a much more effective hiring tool than normal interviewing processes.
ASE has partnered with two organizations to provide our members with access to interns within Michigan and throughout the country.
Intern in Michigan
Intern in Michigan is a radical reimagining of the state’s internship environment. This groundbreaking new system instantly connects students and employers through a unique online matching system. This revolutionary matching algorithm uses targeted profile data gathered from both students and employers. Internship candidates will be dynamically placed with organizations based on their individual interests and unique skill sets. Meanwhile, employers will be matched with the students who are best suited to their organization.
Saving time and headaches, Intern in Michigan makes connections based on specific job requirements and the individual interests and skills of the candidates.
More than ever, it is important to increase access to internships for all students. Research shows that 7 out of 10 students who have had an internship with an employer are hired by that same employer. Connecting college students nationwide with employers in Michigan is a great way to bring new talent into the state and help drive local business and the greater economy. Or, if you are looking to connect with students studying outside of Michigan to work at your locations out of state, this is your opportunity to connect to thousands of students at a number of leading universities outside of Michigan.
ASE has partnered with Internships.com to provide ASE member companies with a supplementary tool to their local hiring initiatives.
